String Unwound

I wrote this song a long time ago with my buddy Jordan Goehring. We wrote the lyrics in an exquisite corpse fashion, where I wrote two lines, Jordan would only see my second line, he wrote two lines, I only saw his second line, and so on. The lyrics of the chorus 'This life will be the death of me' sound macabre but really it's just saying it how it is. How can we have our death without living our life? The way we live will eventually lead us to our end. No big surprise there. lyrics STRING UNWOUND This life will be the death of me. Complacency waits for me in this canopy resist vanity outside places free forming constantly our own path through dreams unseen, who is not there Unheard here listening in the woods of my soul worn thin sinew strong bow true target moon distant view I always knew This life will be the death of me. What is this view to the valley below the fauna glistening, listen and observe what grows where it goes cut the path, path back home again the unknown home again string unwound. This life will be the death of me.
